Rebuilt from EMD  SD70M-2 (DC traction) locomotive. Original cab and electrical cabinet were replaced
with EMD SD70ACe isolated cab, widenose, AAR-style control stand, electrical cabinet with Mitsubishi electronics,
a new main alternator, and additional weight was added to increase the maximum weight to 432,000 pounds.

Existing trucks were rebuilt and new AC traction motors installed.

Equipped with IAC (Individual Axle Control) with one inverter per axle for
better overall control of tractive effort.

Equipped CCB II computer controlled braking system.

Equipped with PTC (Positive Train Control) system.

Equipped for use in DPU (Distributed Power Unit) operation.

Equipped with Automatic Engine Stop/Start

Equipped with air conditioning.

All units are equipped with an electric parking brake.
